This course delves into the science behind behaviour, exploring why students behave the way they do and offering strategies to effectively support them in a classroom setting.

This course is designed for Teachers and Senior Leaders in education who are committed to creating a progressive, inclusive behaviour policy that benefit all members of the school community.

In the last 30 years, our understanding of how the brain operates has dramatically improved. Evidence now shows that traditional school behavior policies often fail to align with our current knowledge of the brain’s structure and function. Unfortunately, these outdated policies can unintentionally discriminate against neurodiverse learners and those who have experienced trauma, sometimes causing significant psychological harm.

Join Victoria Bagnall in this CPD Accredited course as she guides you through:

  • Understanding Executive Functions: Learn what executive functions are and how they impact teaching and learning.
  • Neurodiversity and Trauma: Explore the relationship between executive functioning, neurodiversity, and trauma.
  • The Risks of Traditional Policies: Discover how traditional behaviour policies can escalate unexpected behaviour and cause psychological harm.
  • A Three-Step Approach: Implement a transformative three-step approach to behaviour that supports children’s development.

What Educators Are Saying
